2D ferroelectrics and their perspectives for neural networks

intro

In recent years, the discovery and exploration of two-dimensional ferroelectric materials, and specifically interfacial ferroelectrics, have opened up exciting possibilities in nanoscience and nanotechnology. These materials exhibit unique ferroelectric properties at their interface, coupled with optical degrees of freedom, making them highly promising for a wide range of applications, from memory devices, sensors, actuators, photonic devices, and beyond. This workshop explores their fundamental properties, device applications, characterization techniques, and growth mechanisms. The workshop will explore the potential of 2D ferroelectrics in shaping the future of non-volatile memory and low-threshold nonlinear optical components. These materials have a unique combination of ferroelectric and optical properties with promising implications for photonics and neuromorphics.

Key Topics to be Covered:

    • Interfacial ferroelectricity in 2D materials and heterostructures
    • Optoelectronic properties of 2D ferroelectric devices
    • 2D ferroelectrics networks, moiré, FE-domains
    • Integration of 2D interfacial ferroelectrics
    • Large-scale synthesis of 2D ferroelectrics, 2D heterostructures assembly
